Welcome to the Geauga County Archives and Records Center Website! Geauga has a rich cultural and political heritage. The Archives is privileged to maintain the world's largest collection of records detailing the county's history and development. Our collection dates from the first permanent settlement in 1798 of the land that officially became Geauga County on December 31, 1805. The Archives is funded by the Board of County Commissioners and administered as a joint program of the Microfilming Board and Records Commission. We hope that you find this site useful whether you are researching Geauga history or managing records. Please let us know how else we might help in your project
